Abstract

The Shanghai Metropolitan Railway Airport Link Line Project marks the first implementation of fully prefabricated assembly technology for circular tunnel interior structures in the domain of large-diameter shield tunnels within China. The tunnel features an outer diameter of 13.6 m and an inner diameter of 12.5 m. The prefabricated central partition wall employs an inverted T-shaped configuration, with individual components measuring 1990 mm in length, 400 mm in thickness, and 9262 mm in height, and weighing approximately 20.4 tonnes, thereby constituting a single-tube double-track high-speed railway tunnel. The project entailed the development of specialized assembly fixtures and transportation equipment for the central partition walls, the formulation of assembly procedures, and the establishment of assembly precision control standards. Through continuous optimization of construction techniques throughout the construction process, the assembly efficiency of the central partition walls was enhanced, assembly deviations were minimized, and construction quality was strengthened. This technology offers replicable and mature experience for subsequent fully prefabricated assembly construction of interior structures in large-diameter shield tunnels, and possesses promising prospects for widespread promotion and application.

Abstract

The Shanghai Municipal Railway Airport Link Line project represents the first application of fully prefabricated assembly technology for internal structures in super large-diameter shield tunnels within China. The tunnel features an outer diameter of 13.6 m and an inner diameter of 12.5 m, with prefabricated intermediate walls designed in an inverted T-shape. Each wall segment measures 1,990 mm in length, 400 mm in thickness, and 9,262 mm in height, weighing approximately 20.4 tonnes, thereby forming a single-tube, double-track high-speed railway tunnel. To implement this innovative approach, dedicated assembly equipment and transportation devices were developed, systematic assembly procedures were established, and precision control standards were proposed. Through continuous optimization of construction techniques throughout the project, significant improvements were achieved in assembly efficiency, installation accuracy, and overall construction quality. This technology offers mature, replicable experience for subsequent super large-diameter shield tunnel projects utilizing fully prefabricated assembly methods and holds promising prospects for widespread application.
