Introduction
The rapid development of information technology and the widespread adoption of internet technology have become important drivers for the deep integration of traditional and emerging media. As demonstrated in Table 1 [TABLE:1], the deep integration of new media and traditional media involves not only technological convergence but also a comprehensive integration of content production, consumption patterns, and user participation. Building upon this theoretical foundation, the Palm Media System places user needs at its core, leveraging big data, artificial intelligence, and large models to assist with intelligent topic selection, AI creation, and dissemination evaluation. This approach revolutionizes media management concepts and further enhances media information production efficiency. The media convergence development strategy aims to establish a society-wide all-media communication system where various media platforms have no clear categorical boundaries, enabling mutual linkage and resource sharing while maintaining their respective attributes and characteristics [1]. The combination of artificial intelligence and big data will drive the development of media convergence technology, assisting media organizations in building intelligent new mainstream media production platforms and creating intelligent media matrices for public information services—representing an important direction for media convergence development. In this context, media convergence is demonstrating unprecedented development trends and advantages, and the emergence of Palm Media has become a practical application of convergence media theory.
The Palm Media System, as its name suggests, refers to a system platform that achieves media resource integration, publishing, and dissemination through handheld mobile devices. By supporting mobile office work, flexibly integrating customer business systems, and providing collaborative office, instant communication, and task response functions, the system offers advantages in dissemination speed and coverage that traditional media cannot match due to the widespread use of mobile devices and ubiquitous network connectivity. This system will have a profound impact on the existing news communication landscape, providing new growth points and transformation opportunities for the media industry [4]. Globally, with the leapfrog development of internet and mobile communication technologies, revolutionary changes have occurred in media production and consumption patterns, making media convergence an irreversible trend [5].
The research objective of this system is to build a platform that supports real-time multimedia content production, efficient management, and personalized push. Through the construction of this system—from implementation to performance evaluation to user experience—this study conducts an in-depth exploration of the characteristic functions of Palm Media and its promotion effectiveness in practical applications. This research can provide new perspectives and methods for the media convergence path of the Shaanxi Geological Survey, enhancing the effectiveness of Shaanxi Geological Survey's converged media in leading public communication resources. Through the establishment of the Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media platform, a new production model of "integrated planning, one-time collection, multiple generation, diversified dissemination, scientific evaluation, and effective application" has been constructed, which can effectively support the innovative operation of the Shaanxi geological survey industry's own media platforms and promote the in-depth development of Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media. In this process, studying the innovation and optimization direction of the Palm Media System holds important theoretical and practical value for media convergence in the Shaanxi Geological Survey industry and even broader contexts. As technological iteration stimulated by economic development progresses, "people's social relationships and the subject-object relationship between humans and nature" are gradually "established on digital production, storage, flow, and control," requiring converged media to reconfigure social organizational forms, management models, personnel management, resource allocation, and rule processes [6]. This study focuses on the design and application of Palm Media Systems, aiming to provide references for the construction of modern communication systems, help information dissemination achieve the social goal of smooth governance and harmonious people, respond to market trends of diversified information acquisition needs, and simultaneously provide pathways for the application of Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media. By continuously exploring and improving the implementation mechanisms and application effects of Palm Media Systems, we can promote their core role in media convergence and drive the entire media industry forward [7], holding significant theoretical and practical significance for promoting media convergence development.
System Design and Implementation
New media technology is not only a key indicator of the current development of China's media industry convergence but has also become a structural element in the process of global communication order reconstruction [8]. As a core force in media convergence development, Palm Media technology promotes the integration of traditional and new media while facilitating technological innovation and communication model reshaping. In the collaborative system design of media projects, Palm Media System design must focus on user needs and operational convenience while absorbing cutting-edge technologies to achieve efficient, stable, and secure information transmission. This study proposes a set of design methods for Palm Media Systems. First, structured analysis is employed to determine system requirements, creating detailed models of user scenarios and functional needs. For example, the publicity content production and distribution process of the Shaanxi Geological Survey media platform uses modular design principles to construct the system architecture, with each module responsible for different functions, vividly conveying scenarios to users and establishing strong resonance [9]. Additionally, considering the particularities of mobile systems, this study proposes a cloud computing-based server architecture design scheme that can effectively handle high concurrency situations. Multi-layer firewalls and data encryption technologies are adopted to ensure secure transmission and storage of user data, along with security mechanisms such as message encryption and access control (to prevent message tampering and illegal access), guaranteeing data security and privacy. The system also pays special attention to mobile user experience, implementing responsive design for mobile applications. Through frameworks and state management patterns, an efficient front-end data flow management architecture has been realized, supporting cross-platform mobile application development. In content dissemination strategies, the system designs multi-channel content synchronization and release functions, using message queues to manage distribution among different channels, ensuring information consistency and timeliness. Relying on artificial intelligence technology, the system can intelligently analyze user behavior to achieve personalized recommendations, further improving the accuracy and efficiency of information acquisition [10]. In summary, in terms of architecture design and technology selection, the Palm Media System combines current technology development status and future trends, adopting modular, distributed, and microservice design concepts and advanced technology stacks to ensure efficient operation and long-term evolution capability. Meanwhile, through highly adaptable technology selection and humanized interaction design, it promotes the in-depth development of media convergence theory and practice [11][12].
The implementation of the Palm Media System lies in the construction of efficient and stable functional modules, with multiple modules verifying the system's performance in practical applications and user feedback. The system provides core functional modules including content publishing, user interaction, and data analysis for the Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media platform, supporting seamless integration of news collection and editing workflows. This study embeds the Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media workflow into the Palm Media System, serving the entire process of news planning, collection, editing, publishing, management, monitoring, and feedback, achieving full business integration. It provides users with a "multi-template, multi-component, multi-scenario, multi-channel" converged intelligent editor, enabling them to conduct clue reporting, content production, review processing, and message reception anytime and anywhere. Integrating multiple core sections and business processes such as media asset management, topic planning, manuscript creation, one-click multi-channel distribution, and collaborative office work, the system aims to improve work efficiency, optimize content creation and management processes, and provide comprehensive work support and services for converged media practitioners. The characteristics of Palm Media lie in the content management module, which is optimized through corresponding processing engines to achieve efficient processing of news text, images, audio, and video in various formats, ensuring accurate conveyance and high-quality display of content and effectively enhancing the intelligent management and application of Shaanxi Geological Survey media resources. The data analysis module analyzes user behavior, establishes a tagging system to achieve precise push, conducts sentiment analysis of user comments and feedback, and helps media platforms grasp public opinion trends and adjust content strategies [3]. Intelligent multi-modal content security review provides users with intelligent auditing capabilities for errors, proofreading, politically sensitive, pornographic, violent, vulgar, and advertising content, effectively reducing business violation risks. The system's implementation effectiveness is ensured through comprehensive testing including broadband traffic monitoring, server log analysis, and user feedback collection, guaranteeing system stability and user satisfaction and strongly supporting the daily operation of the Palm Media System.
In terms of system performance evaluation, the Palm Media System's data exchange efficiency measurement uses advanced data compression algorithms, achieving an average compression ratio of 5:1, which significantly reduces data transmission delay and increases information update speed by 50%, notably outperforming similar products. When resisting external attacks, the system can detect abnormal behavior immediately and take effective measures. Experiments show that after undergoing various network attack tests including DDoS attacks, the system's security protection capability can maintain a 99.9% online rate, exceeding industry security standards. In data analysis and evaluation, the system incorporates a powerful data analysis engine. Through in-depth analysis of user behavior, the system can accurately depict user preferences and push more personalized content accordingly. This strategy has improved content push accuracy by 30%. Meanwhile, system performance reports show that after applying optimized push strategies for one month, users' average dwell time increased by 40%, effectively enhancing user stickiness and activity. In summary, the Palm Media System demonstrates excellent performance in evaluation, with its efficient information processing capabilities, outstanding user experience, and stable security protection mechanisms, fully proving that the system's design and application possess significant innovation and practical value in promoting media convergence development and providing reliable technical support for deepening converged media communication strategies [4][13].
Application and Evaluation
The user interface design of the Palm Media System is a critical link in enhancing user experience and system practicality. When designing the interface, both aesthetics and functional practicality must be considered to ensure reasonable layout, smooth interaction, and compliance with user operation habits. Given users' current demands for information acquisition convenience and personalization, functional blocks such as news reading, interactive communication, personalized recommendations, and user settings are clearly divided into modules, ensuring users can quickly locate columns and functions of interest. The home page displays commonly used module entrances for users (as shown in Figure 1 [FIGURE:1]) and integrates the latest to-do items and meeting notifications to improve users' to-do processing and message acquisition efficiency. Users can configure the home page display modules themselves, and different users can customize the display according to their business needs (as shown in Figure 2 [FIGURE:2]). Secondly, the system workbench is divided into four modules according to Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media business scenarios, with each module interconnected throughout the entire business production process, providing users with convenient palm-based collection and editing tools. The user interface not only enhances the overall user experience but also provides personalized services based on the characteristics of Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media, achieving efficient information conveyance and barrier-free interactive communication, providing users with an interactive platform that satisfies both information acquisition and personalized service enjoyment.
In the Palm Media System, content management is its core competitiveness. The system supports efficient data retrieval and storage, automatically classifies and tags massive information, and achieves intelligent content distribution and rapid retrieval. Simultaneously, the system can connect related content to provide multi-angle, in-depth reading experiences, effectively enhancing the intelligent storage of Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media resources. It also supports multi-person collaboration and mobile collection and editing, enabling timely task assignment, progress tracking, and feedback collection on mobile devices. Team members can share information and collaborate in real-time, ensuring tasks are completed successfully and effectively enhancing the intelligent application of Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media resources. Nowadays, a mobile phone is equivalent to the sum of equipment previously used by newspaper reporters, such as microphones and video cameras, allowing them to discover news at any time, conduct tracking recordings, and easily complete content organization and approval, rapidly publishing on new media platforms [14]. The resulting digital assets possess convenience, flexibility, instant upload, rapid review, and real-time update characteristics. This solves pain points such as limited topic selection timeliness, inconvenient digital asset return and management, restricted content editing and distribution workflows, untimely access to hot information, inability to improve team collaboration efficiency, and inconvenient task progress tracking. This function effectively meets the differentiated needs of Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media work for indoor and field work scenarios. Because there is a high matching degree between scenario media and users, users pay more attention to this type of relevant information when using the internet [15].
The Palm Media System emphasizes social media integration, breaking traditional information transmission barriers and leveraging the extensive coverage of social networks to track hot information across major platforms in real-time. The system places users at the center of all development, seeking connection points that align with user thinking. It maintains synchronized push to keep pace while also focusing on the audience needs of different media, implementing segmented communication and precise delivery to maximize audience dependence on media [16]. The Shaanxi Geological Survey team can distribute manuscripts to multiple platforms with one click, timely and centrally capturing cutting-edge geological survey-related information, ensuring access to the latest hot events and topics at the first moment, rapidly capturing valuable clues and topics. After identification and analysis, these hot topics can be quickly transformed into clues, topics, or manuscript frameworks, significantly shortening content creation cycles. Users are not only content receivers but also disseminators. Based on users' fields of interest and platforms, the system employs big data intelligence to provide users with comprehensive, diverse, and targeted hot information personalization, helping users understand and analyze hot events from multiple perspectives, thereby creating more in-depth and extensive content that accurately meets user needs, improves user satisfaction, and increases manuscript exposure and dissemination effectiveness. This promotes horizontal and vertical information circulation and effectively solves the problem of Shaanxi Geological Survey-related information and popular science works lacking diversified distribution channels, achieving the difficult goal of "breaking circles."
In terms of the two core indicators of information transmission efficiency and user interaction experience, the Palm Media System's performance is particularly critical. Therefore, this study conducted extensive and in-depth research on user experience within the system to ensure that service content and interaction design meet users' real needs and usage habits. Through random sampling, a user group of 2,000 participants covering different ages, occupations, and educational backgrounds was constructed to ensure the representativeness and breadth of research data. Standardized questionnaires were used to organize users' perceptions, emotions, and behavioral responses during system use. The questionnaire design focused on user satisfaction with system function modules, information push accuracy, response time, and interface usability, using a 5-point Likert scale for quantitative scoring. The questionnaire specifically collected user feedback on personalized recommendation algorithms, aiming to evaluate whether the algorithm could accurately mine user preferences and achieve precise content matching (Figure 3 [FIGURE:3]).
Through horizontal comparative analysis of different types of media convergence cases, this study deeply explores their underlying integration mechanisms, development models, and faced challenges. Typical Palm Media cases were selected for detailed analysis. Regarding City Pictorial, promoted by the Guangdong Provincial Government, which performed outstandingly in media convergence practice, this case profoundly reflects the media characteristics of modern young people's lifestyles. Through in-depth analysis of its new media branch Cityzine, the development process and business strategy of achieving ¥2 million net profit and an annual innovation award in 2014 were revealed [4]. Another case is the Bingodu app under Southern Metropolis Daily, which started from frequent attempts at media convergence and achieved market success. The analysis examines the operational characteristics of the new media laboratory and how it effectively transformed into an independent profit-making company [4]. Meanwhile, the Palm Media System under the Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media platform has effectively improved the platform's efficiency in planning, collection, editing, distribution, storage, management, application, and feedback. Feedback data from its own media accounts shows that information transmission efficiency has been effectively improved and user interaction experiences have been enriched. In-depth analysis reveals that users' demand for diversified content and preference for interactive functions guide the design of Palm Media's characteristic features. This analysis helps us understand how Palm Media has changed the traditional news industry landscape, and these cases provide strong evidence for understanding the development dynamics and implementation paths of Palm Media. By selecting Palm Media application cases covering different regions, scales, and user groups for in-depth analysis, case selection bias was eliminated, and combined with experimental data, the universality and representativeness of identified patterns and characteristics were enhanced. Furthermore, the construction of the converged media theoretical framework is also based on advanced converged media theory, ensuring the depth and breadth of theoretical research [17]. Based on comprehensive case analysis and user behavior research results, we conclude that Palm Media has unique advantages in improving information sharing and breaking time and space limitations [5].
During the application promotion process of the Palm Media System, efficient market penetration was achieved through precision marketing strategies and user demand research. Based on user feedback, system functions were continuously optimized, user interface design was improved, and precise portraits of user habits were created. Through multiple rounds of user satisfaction surveys, data shows that users' overall satisfaction with the Palm Media System reached 85%, with particular praise for the accuracy of content recommendation algorithms and personalized services. The system's built-in real-time news update and push functions meet users' strong demand for timeliness, with system notification open rates maintained at over 90%. Additionally, according to user behavior data analysis, the average daily active user growth rate reached 12%, showing that the system's popularity and stickiness are continuously increasing. Resource integration maintains stronger vitality both online and offline, coexisting harmoniously and complementing each other, attracting high user attention and making everyone an individual media disseminator [18]. Market feedback results also indicate that Palm Media's operational model highly aligns with user habits in the digital age. Existing users have gradually transformed into core users and begun actively recommending the system to others, demonstrating good market acceptance and promotion potential for the Palm Media System [8].
Conclusion
This study, through case analysis of the Palm Media System in practices such as the Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media platform, demonstrates that through cross-platform, cross-channel, and cross-business integration, media convergence breaks the spatiotemporal limitations of traditional communication models, promotes information sharing and real-time interaction, and redefines user experience and participation methods. In the application of the Shaanxi Geological Survey converged media platform, it has effectively improved the efficiency of Shaanxi Geological Survey propaganda work, unblocking links in the propaganda workflow including information sources, production, distribution, review, and feedback, and promoting the platform's in-depth convergence. It provides an effective pathway for the transformation and upgrading of news media. Overall, the Palm Media System not only demonstrates significant technical implementation effects but also continues to optimize based on changing user needs, showing its indispensable role in news dissemination and media convergence development, and injecting more innovative vitality into the in-depth development of media convergence.
